Importance of Pagerank

Written on 28 August 2007

As we all have come to know, pagerank plays a very important role in the world of the web. Pagerank varies from the worst 0, to the best 10. The term “pagerank” in a simplier term is the value or strength that google holds to that particular site. Often times, the true importance of pagerank is that content or new material on a webpage is indexed on a higher pagerank site as a opposed to a lower pagerank site. Obiously, indexing new pages faster is very beneficial to a site owner. With the indexing of pages, more traffic from search engines will follow suit. So, it may be assumed in some cases that a higher pagerank yields more revenue as a opposed to a lower pagerank. This is not necessary true, but you can see how it happens.

In order to attain this high pagerank, we can purchase links from other pagerank sites or add a good mix of traffic, fresh/unique content and time. This brings me to further another importance of pagerank, the selling of links. On almost any web developing forum in the world, you will find a portion dedicated to selling of links. These priced links most likely contain a pagerank. The higher the pagerank, the higher the price of the link. Typically for a strong pr7 link, it will cost $200 to $300 dollars a month, Imagine the power you could have with two pr7 sites.

Hopefully through this brief article, you can see how pagerank can increase visitors through indexing pages rapidly and by adding money in your pocket, or paypal.
