Anchor Text & SEO

Search Engine Optimization is the practice of strengthening the code within your website so as best to receive targeted traffic from the search engines. Search engine optimization and search engine traffic relies heavily on who is linking to your website. Links to your site is in essence a stamp of approval for your website and with this approval search engines such as Google will move you up in their rankings.
However one essential aspect of linking that falls into the art of search engine optimization is to use anchor text and HREF Titles. Anchor text means that the phrase that is the link should describe the page that it’s linking to and not just read “click here” or something similar. If you do a Google search for “click here” you’ll see that the Adobe Acrobat reader is in the number one spot. I would imagine that Adobe has this top spot because of all the links to PDFs that say “click here” rather than using a descriptive title like “SEO Expert Boston” when the PDF is about an SEO Expert located in Boston.
