This is possibly one of the most asked questions with regard to article submissions on the Internet. So what is the answer?

Well the answer is not as simple as a yes or no, as it can be both, and it can be neither! “What?” I hear you ask!

Their are two ways of submitting articles, the incorrect way, which will result in Google giving you a few negative points, and the right way which can mean many bonus Google points. Although they keep messing about with the algorithms for Pagerank and search results, the most essential thing that does continue is that you have enough back links to your website, preferably one-way.

Gone are the days when any kind of links would do in order to assist towards a Google Pagerank, due to a change around the inception of 2007, the only links likely to assist you obtain greater search placing and Pagerank are websites that have a Pagerank of FOUR or higher. So those of us who spent the last few years building up any links to our sites, have now found that Google is no longer interested. This is not all bad news, as they still benefit with Yahoo, Lycos, etc. So do not ignore them completely, but it is best to concentrate on those with a 4+ Pagerank.

One thing the majority of people forget when submitting an article is that Google will ignore duplicates. So if you add your article to a Pagerank 2, and a Pagerank 4 free submission site, and they are exactly the same, if Google picks up the initial one, you will only get the Pagerank 2 pointing to you by Google, as I mentioned earlier, this is pretty worthless now.

The only way of ensuring each submission to different article sites actually counts as helping your own Pagerank is to change the text in your article for each submission. This can be as simple as just changing synonyms or you can go as far as rearranging paragraphs. A mixture of a few things is usually best, and just changing the odd word will not work either. This can be a laborious thing to do manually; luckily software is out there to aid you, while most are much better than others.

So by submitting your articles to Pagerank 4+ sites only, and changing a reasonable number of words, while keeping the same meaning, each submission should count in most way towards your Pagerank.

One last thing with article submissions is that by submitting masses of different subject articles to the same website, this does not assist your Pagerank, as only one link will count on Google. However, the pay off this does for you is that your site is more likely to pay off from these articles being republished across the Internet, and a small number of these will be from sites with a good ranking.

Spending hours submitting articles may be a complete waste of your time, and those who review the articles if you ignore the data above.

If you are new to the business of owning and operating a website then the understanding of analytics and search engine optimization may at first seem overwhelming. But like anything, it first requires a grasp of the terminology. Knowing the terminology, you will have a better understanding of what types of website goals you are shooting for.

Maybe you are now saying, my goal is just to sell more products or services. True enough. But to sell more products or services, one must understand who their customer is along with whether you are reaching that customer and if you are holding that customer’s attention long enough to make a sell. To do this, one must understand the interaction between customers and your website and this is done through Website Analytics.

Website analytics requires analyzing data on the back end of your website. A marketing specialist or search engine optimizer is going to look at these figures to help create and modify a marketing plan for you. So what types of things is this specialist looking at?

The quantity and quality of inbound links are two of the many metrics used by a search engine to rank a website. Link bait can be conisdered as being a part of link building, and aims to increase the quantity of high-quality, relevant links to a website. It is considered to be a white hat search engine optimisation (SEO) method almost universally.

There is such a thing to include like the attracting link, where the quality of your content is useful or entertaining enough that people can’t resist linking to it, thus improving your page rank and your position in the search engine results pages.

Although there are no clear subdivisions within link bait, many attempt to divide them into types of hooks. This is a short list of some of the most common kind of “hooks” with short descriptions:

Informational Hooks: They provide information that a reader may find very useful. Some rare Tips and tricks or any personal experience through which readers can benefit.

News Hooks: Provide fresh information and garner citations and links as the news spreads.

Humor Hooks: Tell a funny story or a joke. A bizarre picture of your subject or mocking cartoons can also prove to be a link bait.

Evil Hooks: Saying something unpopular or mean may also yield a lot of attention. Writing about something that is not appealing about a product or a popular blogger. Provide strong reasons for it.

Tool Hooks: Create some sort of tool that is useful enough that people link to it.

But how does link baiting work?

Do not forget that, the Internet is a huge network. So if you want your linkbait to attract visitors to your web site, you’re going to have to use the network to put it where they can see it. Quite literally, you’re going to have to do some networking.

You do not necessarily have to put all of your linkbait in places where it can be seen. You can set lures to your linkbait, in a manner of speaking. For instance, you may have engaged in pay-per-click campaigns. Have you considered starting one to promote your linkbait?

In short, however you get visitors to your site, from whatever source or in whatever venue, once they are in your site, they are likely to link to it if you give them what they are looking for.
There are lots of ways to help the network work for you. It is just a matter of knowing how it works.

As you go about developing a comprehensive program to increase traffic to your Internet business website, you likely are looking for those tools that can be most useful to you. To this end, you may wondering how to create a link bait. Indeed, a link bait can be very helpful to you in beefing up the volume of traffic to your Internet business website. Through this article, you are provided with an overview of how to create a link bait.

In simple terms, link bait is any content or feature that is included on a website that “baits” or attracts and draws people to place links to the particular website that is featuring this attractive content or feature. Using link bait oftentimes is a part of an overall search engine optimization program and plan. In very simple terms, link bait is anything that ends up being interesting enough to catch attention from other people.

Examples of link bait include placing links to a website within copy that is included within or placed on bulletin boards, social networking website venues and newsgroup websites. Many people have found this type of Internet marketing as part of a link building program to be very powerful and ultimately successful in increasing traffic to a particular website.

Some of the more common link baits include:

Informational Hooks: These types of link baits provide a reader with useful information which causes them to click on a link.

News Hooks: These types of link baits provide tidbits of news that motivate a person to click on a link.

Humor Hooks: By entertaining a reader, a reader many times will take the step of clicking on a link to see “if the story continues” at the referenced website.

Evil Hooks: The making of strong, negative or even harsh statements oftentimes can motivate a person to click on a link.

Tool Hooks: By providing access to some sort of tool that might be useful to a person, you oftentimes can motivate a person to click on a link.

By using these proven link baits, you likely will be able to develop a successful inbound link program that will increase the traffic to your website. Increased traffic will result in an increase in revenues and profits as well — which is, of course, your ultimate goal when it comes to a Net based business enterprise.
